throw back to two years ago when we were on this stunning teach in koh phi phi in thailand. this place was honestly the highlight of my holiday! i loved it so much and didn’t want to leave. our hotel was on a secluded part of the island only accessible by boat. such a peaceful and beautiful beach!
i am a bit of an explorer so have really missed our summer holiday this year.. but covid-19 has helped me to appreciate the beautiful north east and has allowed us to explore so many places we hadn’t been before!
the only food i could rely upon at that trip were lemon juice (didn’t taste the same) and fruits( would never taste the same)🌸
you would relate if you are a vegetarian and you are traveling to thailand.
Wat burapharam in surin, thailand 😇😊🇹🇭
wat burapharam is a royal grade temple that was established by the founder of surin in the late 19th century. the centrally located meditation monastery houses luang phor phra chi, the most sacred buddha image in surin.
seated in the subduing mara posture, the medium-size buddha image sits in a majestic ordination hall sporting a slight european style thanks to crystal chandeliers hung from a white ceiling adorned with twinkling silver stars. vividly painted murals depict key scenes from the buddha’s life, including when hindu god brahma is said to have come to congratulate the buddha after his meditative run to enlightenment.
the temple was also home to the famous thai forest tradition monk, ajahn dune atulo, a surin native who was visited here by the thai king and queen during the late 1970s.

bangkok, th. 🇹🇭
the giant swing was constructed in 1784 in front of the devasathan shrine by king rama i. the pillars of the giant swing represented the mountains, while the circular base of the swing represented the earth and the seas. a since discounted swing ceremony was a interpretation of an ancient hindu epic, that after brahma created the world he sent shiva to look after it. when shiva descended to the earth, naga serpents wrapped around the mountains in order to keep the earth in place. after shiva found the earth solid, the nagas moved to the seas in celebration.
