With a mission of creating brighter days for the aged and youth through intergenerational programs, we at adelaide cupid foundation, are responding to the need for alternative senior living facilities in the island of trinidad and tobago.
additionally, we are working towards providing safe, housing solutions to youth who find themselves orphaned or who have no one to care for them.
our hope is to one day create an environment on two campuses in one main location that connects the lives of young and old, and bring about change through dynamic structured activities and programs.
Our motm goes to our very own, kieron harris, who worked very h*****n the pitch and got stuck in! a beautiful pass that helped got us the goal to give us the lead! 👏🏼🔥

Sound on!! --- i've been spending a lot of time working on a project around trauma and triggers. it's tough and i am exhausted. at times i want to stop and throw it in the bin, questioning why i am doing it. and then people suddenly make comments like this and remind me of its purpose, of my purpose!
--- i'm so lucky to have amazing people supporting me and contributing to the project like @hopegoodiie. understanding my limits and taking regular breaks help me sustain sanity too. let me know your tactics for working on projects involving trauma?

Throwback to this glorious evening with my sister and dear one @guidedbybiet. last live gathering of this sort happened in february, no telling when the next one will be. if my team were to plan *something* for *sometime* in 2021, what would you want? a radical truth-tellers retreat? a slumber party? an anxiety-dissolving meditation experience + dance-off? dream of better days below!
It’s been hard to be present on social media recently (again 🙊), when there’s just so much heaviness in the world. from losing grandad, to child trafficking exploding into the general public’s eye more than ever before (which is positive, of course, but a difficult thing to have more or less constant awareness of), to this covid pandemic threatening collapse of society in deeper ways than we have imagined. it’s a lot. a real lot. we’re dealing with a type of life that humans have never had to deal with before. + it’s affecting us in ways that we can’t fully understand yet. i’ve spent days down rabbit holes looking into all options of what else could be going on on deeper levels, as there always is, + as much as i want to know all possibilities + i’m grateful that i have a mind which questions the mainstream narrative, the heaviness + the darkness that results from said rabbit holes - gets me nowhere. worse than that, it only feeds to the ever-present, ever-expanding darkness which is vastly taking over the world.
which i refuse to contribute to. my mission, for myself, and for all of you, has been + always will be to be a source of light. positivity + love is the only vibration i’m willing to f**k with. i’m here to love, + love hard!
from originally thinking, “ahhh! this is the break we’ve all been in such desperate need of”, to now thinking, “hmm, this is potentially turning into something much bigger, something we might only be at the beginning of, and which might involve control + oppression like we’ve never seen before”...
what i do think was highlighted to all of us: we were all running tirelessly in a never ending hamster wheel continuum, and it simply couldn’t go on that way. we need change.
our earth, our climate, is getting abused in a way that we are choosing our own imminent destruction - destruction of all humankind - if we don’t make huge changes. if we don’t stop pillaging the oceans, farming en masse, reproducing in excess, living out of greed + without connection to nature + our true essence - we are simply not going to make it.
our world has come to be ran by a few rich men who do not care for our welfare, only their short...⬇️

Never ever let go, we have so much ahead of us. hold on tight and enjoy the ride.
Just the very thought of the times of how we turned this mes house into our home gives me chills. first home together after marriage always holds a special place in everyone’s life, but for us, this is way beyond special because this is where our baby came into our lives. while we are still living here and creating moments and memories, i am sharing some pics of the very initial stage of settling our home.
pic1. this is how it looked ten days after we moved in. while we were still busy shopping for households, we managed to settle the drawing room with whatever we had till then.
pic2. a very normal pic but reminds me of a special drink which my dear husband made for me right after coming back from evening walk.
pic3. while we both are teetotallers, we occasionally treat ourselves with some fine wine and hence this wine bottle rack had to be bought to dignify our wine bottles even more.
pic4,5: although i have recently shared these two pics of dining table decor for parties at home, but still thought of putting these here again because going through the pictures of hosting parties brings back so many memories.
the very moment when we realise that finally we are settled here, the posting signal comes and there you go, your trunks are out and in goes the stuff.
but i think that’s what fauji life is all about, while we are always on the move, we still create memories for life. we, the fauji wives, learn so many things unknowingly everyday and that gives us the strength we need.
No, this isn’t a clue for next week’s #quiz. instagram takeover happening this aft!!! we just l-o-v-e @garlic.expressions so much we can’t help but give them the #shoutout they so rightfully deserve. hand and family-made for twenty five years people!!! and now the good news...season 2 returning loser #itsjustus (@itsmeapes ) will be taking over our insta to dive into her first-ever @garlic.expressions experience. expect honesty, expect excitement, expect serious contemplation. “no matter how bad it looks and no matter how awful it is at the time, no matter what you’ve been through, there will come a time when you will be able to use that experience for something positive.” - amanda de cadenet
all together is my something positive. my two year struggle with postpartum depression coupled with the decision to leave behind my career to focus on my health and raising my kids was an experience i wouldn’t wish upon anyone.
i spent two years fighting to find the light in one of the darkest seasons of my life and it was that struggle that helped me find my strength to eventually launch this business and turn my own negative experience into something beautiful.
i never imagined that covid-19 would once again dim the light (not just for me but for mothers everywhere), but through it all i am reminded that these hard seasons ultimately unlock our true potential and i am anxiously optimistic about all the future holds.
what have you learned about yourself during this difficult time?! what is the something positive you are reaching for on the other side of this season?!
looking at the bonds of friendship. a strong connection with friends can lead them to becoming family. because its not just dna that links us.
we are bonded by experience, personality, love, unity, togetherness, soul and much more
A home is more than just a structure of four-walls, it's a place for family, friends and acceptance.
home is where we can enjoy comfort food with our favourite people home is where we can dance to random music when we want to relax or let things go home is a warm hug from a pet after a long day and the comfort the perfect pillow when you get to bed.
during the prolonged #selfisolation of #covid19 we were all given an opportunity to embrace the joy of being home more often. if you're looking for a new place to call home, leave us a message or give us a call.

It can be so easy to feel powerless when fear faces us at every turn.
we feel powerless when we have forgotten who we are. when we’ve forgotten our gifts. when we’ve forgotten that we have agency to take action. when we’ve forgotten that our actions can be used for a greater good beyond ourselves.
you are not powerless. you exist in a vast interconnecting network of many, many humans who deeply care.
(while it can be easy to get jaded by some of the more terrible/unethical figures in society & the unjust/corrupt/broken systems that abound, i honestly do believe that there are far more people existing on this planet who genuinely want a greater good.)
you are not powerless.
you have special gifts, a perspective, even a caring presence that you can offer at this critical time. what you have to offer - big or small - is needed.
✨ share with me:
✨ how are you honoring & expressing your gifts at this time?
✨ how are you finding ways to uplift yourself or uplift others?
sending you all lots of love, solidarity, and support. 🙌🏼
💛 ps. during challenging times - it can be so helpful to have a compassionate ear to hear you out. a skilled & loving presence to support you in calming down your nervous system. and a clear-minded partner to help you brainstorm your next steps. lucky for you i’m a bad a*s coach who specializes in doing these exact things. you don’t have to go through this alone. i’m here for you & ready to be a part of your support team. dm me to set up a free 1hour call! 🙌🏼
We have to be careful with the ideas that when you heal you will leave people behind. or healing looks like being alone as if there isn’t other people on the healing path. far too many of us have trust issues, for god reasons for some. but healing ourselves equals being able to be in good relationships with other. not creating a box to live alone. don’t feed your fears of people with i’m just staying to myself to heal. there will be times when solitude is needed. we need quiet to hear the noise. but if you can only be with you then more healing needs to be done. we heal best together, not alone. ~ its your choice #itsyourchoice#togetherness#healtogether#trustissues#healthat#mentalhealth#healing#blackmental#blackhealing#relationships

A few weeks ago i was looking for a slogan top and came across this collaboration tee by topshop x calm and instantly brought it. calm is the abbreviation for campaign against living miserably and is a movement against suicide.
in the uk alone 125 people take their own lives every week, with 75% of all uk suicides being male. mental health is an ongoing issue within our western society and needs encouragement to be spoken about to trap and remove thoughts and memories that may be acted upon outwardly. this campaign and charity is a free and confidential helpline and webchat that is open every day from 5pm - midnight for anyone who is going through a difficult time or has lost anyone by suicide.
During the lockdown the girls were dependent on notes and books. after lockdown was over, they met with thinlay, their mentor and tutor, and shared their experiences inside their homes, with no school life. thinlay had them write short stories about their experience. the girls greatly enjoyed being together with thinlay again. #togetherness#learning#shortstories
