~ travel isn’t always pretty. it isn’t always comfortable. sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. but that’s okay. the journey changes you; it should change you. it leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. you take something with you. hopefully, you leave something good behind. ~ anthony bourdain. good guy. 🦑
Have you registered for fair pharmacare yet?
the fair pharmacare plan helps british columbians with the cost of eligible prescription drugs and designated medical supplies.
*fair pharmacare coverage is based on your income
*the lower your income, the more help you receive
*there is no cost to register and there are no premiums
under the fair pharmacare plan, you pay your family’s prescription costs until you meet your deductible. after you meet your deductible, pharmacare helps you with eligible costs for the rest of the year.
if you are submitting drug claims to your extended health plan and your claiming is suspended, chances are it’s because you need to register for fair pharmacare before the insurance company can continue to provide coverage for your prescriptions.
if you have not yet registered for fair pharmacare, you can do that here: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/health/health-drug-coverage/pharmacare-for-bc-residents/who-we-cover/fair-pharmacare-plan/register-for-fair-pharmacare
if you have already registered, but need a copy of your consent form, or a copy of your confirmation letter to send along to your advisor, you can do that here: https://pharmacare.moh.hnet.bc.ca/ppibroker?externalaction=jppireprint
once you have your number (starts with an "a"), send it along to your advisor and they will get it to the insurance company for you so your file can be updated and the temporary hold can be taken off of your account.
Declined drug claims – this could be an easier fix than you think!
this is usually the result of one of three things: 1) you are trying to claim a brand name drug when your plan will only cover generic drugs. 2) you are trying to claim for a dependent and the birthdate is listed incorrectly on your file. 3) your drug claiming has been suspended until the insurance company receives your fair pharmacare number.
in any case, contact your advisor and they will be happy to help you get to the bottom of it 😊
