Post #3 of my non-toxic, #naturalskincare kit exploration! i’m so excited to have this incorporated into my #skincareregimen (but when am i ever not excited?). this toner spray is from @hannes_dottir, an icelandic-based brand. it’s packed with a variety of minerals. ✨
⭐️ (*the following ingredient list + its beneficial uses taken from the hannes dottir website so you can see how cool this spray is 😽) 👉 ingredients such as spearmint oil calms the skin while silica helps with maintaining elasticity. this spray also helps with pore minimization (courtesy of boron citrate), skin protection (grapefruit seed extract, choline), cell regeneration (iodine, citric acid), and prepares your face for the next steps of your skincare routine.
📝 first, shake the bottle to activate minerals (i forgot to do this when i first used it). this toner comes with a spray head so i like to spritz it onto my palm and then pat onto my skin. 🌞 it smells faintly of spearmint. it’s sticky when you first apply it, but i like the way my skin feels afterwards! i follow up with a moisturizer immediately after. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
i’m quite pleased with this product! i can’t wait to see how well this product works over time. ✨
Save our bees and buy lip balms that don’t use #beeswax or any other beeswax products. #saveourbees 🐝🐝🐝🐝 did you know... honey, beeswax, bee pollen, royal jelly (bee milk), propolis, and bee venom - are all products of intensive labor from hardworking animals.
bees are highly social and cooperative insects. they have a unique and complex form of communications that is based on sight, motion, and scent that even scientists don't fully understand.
they are known to communicate with each other through intricate 'dance' movements.
research has shown that bees are capable of abstract thinking, as well as distinguishing their family members from other bees in the hive.
a common practice among bee farmers is culling entire hives after harvesting the honey, in a bid to keep costs down. they often destroy the hives using cyanide gas.
#bees are also killed or have their wings and legs torn off by haphazard handling.
beekeepers will clip the queen bees' wings to prevent them from leaving the hive and producing a new colony elsewhere - which would slash productivity and profit.
queen bees are also often artificially inseminated.
farmers are known to replace the honey they remove from a hive with a sugar substitute, which is substantially worse for the bees' health. the cheap sugar replacer lacks the nutrients, fats, and vitamins that honey has.
this unethical practice prompts honey bees to overwork themselves to replace the missing honey.
during the removal of the honey, many bees die after stinging the farmers.
Our skin is like a tree bark, it protects us, it regrows after gotten hurt, it shows our age and our scars. it bends, it stretches, it is flushing out toxins and it even breathes!
we shouldn’t be ashamed of aging, it’s a natural process. think about it: wrinkles around your eyes and your cheeks only show that you have laughed a lot in your life! stretch marks after giving birth, are reminders of the strength you have proven during your pregnancy. scars from surviving an operation, sickness or an accident, can be seen as reminders of how beautiful it is to be alive! ∘
i’m overly thankful for my skin, even if it doesn’t look perfect! i’m giving my skin and my body the proper nutrition and love so it will be further taking care of me.♥️
