#facetofacefriday yesterday i decided to treat myself to a new drivers’ license. not gonna lie, sometimes it was fun to see the double take when i was asked for my i.d. and it was definitely fun having all of the ladies at the bmv pass my old license around because they couldn’t believe the change. but nothing is more fun than feeling good about yourself in a picture! #cheesin #helloneck .

now - salads are great. i'm a big fan. they offer a great portion size for reasonable calories and are filling as f*#k. but please don't fall under the illusion that it fits your goals just because it's a salad. i know it's hard, as soon as you hear salad you think diet and vice versa, but hear me out.

now for the sake of this post i'm gonna pick on @chopped.ie - but let it be said i'm actually a big fan of theirs. but let's take a look at their dubliner caesar salad bowl.

442 calories is a pretty decent total considering the volume of food you get in the bowl. but this is just the standard salad without a drop of dressing or a single extra. want to add the recommended dressing? 192 calories (assuming you get a standard serving and not a wave of the stuff). throw a few pine nuts in for texture? 191 calories. bringing you up to about 825 calories give or take - with no real increase in volume at all.

as a comparison - a big mac, medium fries and a diet coke will bring you in at 845 calories. and no, i'm not saying that the big mac is a "healthy" choice. but we're not talking about health, we're talking about f*t loss/gain - which comes down to (say it with me) calories.

the point is - just because it's a salad doesn't mean it's going to fit your goals. you can't just lash on whatever you want. you always need to be mindful of your total calorie intake. think of it this way - you wouldn't eat a big mac 3 times a week if you were trying to lose weight would you? ...

happy friday my loves!!l 💛 with the weekend fast approaching, i’ve decided to do a comparison between chinese food take out with a homemade version. it seems much easier to just order in but this homemade version is super simple to make! ☺️

🔸ingredients: udon/egg noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, msg, cornstarch, vegetable oil, salt, sugar, pork, cabbage. -

🔸taste: salty, savoury, greasy, typically accessible at 4am when d***k but mighttt feel sick after. 😳-

⚠️long post alert: this is a slightly different #facetofacefriday - it’s the happiness edition. i was living in a city my husband and i were not happy in...actually we were quite miserable. the pic on the left was the year we moved there and that was quite a forced smile. we lived in a beautiful house that was both a prison and a sanctuary. a prison because we never left it. the city we lived in had absolutely nothing to offer in terms of cultural diversity or dining or entertainment really. a sanctuary because it was the only thing we had to shelter and comfort us. my husband and i had been in a rut for so long and just didn’t know how to get out of it. we were living a lifestyle that didn’t fit us. i had finally had it and proposed this new alternative lifestyle to my husband. it took some convincing but he eventually agreed. he’s less of a risk taker than me. and here we are today - debt free, mortgage free, living out of our camper, traveling and enjoying every moment, not taking any of it for granted. we’re both happier and stress free. ❤️❤️❤️

i get asked this all time. “what should i eat after my workout?” - so here are a few ideas for if have time to prepare or if you you’re in a rush - the 4 on the left take a bit longer and the 4 on the right are super quick ⚡️⚡️

the trend is to get in your protein and carbs. this is a great time to replenish your energy levels as your body can absorb food very well after a workout
.
the amount you eat will depend on what your goal is. keep in mind that you may feel hungrier than you actually are so make sure that you keep that mind if you’re trying to lose weight
.
i’d also like to mention that there is no rush to get your food in after your workout. your gain will not be lost if you wait over 30 minutes. you’ll probably be hungry though and eat within an hour or 2 anyway 😊

I love fries - plain, topped with chili and cheese, or covered in ketchup! fries just hit that salty craving we all get sometimes, but did you know fast food fries can have more than 50% of your daily sodium requirement?! that is insane.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
this is why i have fries out on occasion, but if i’m craving them more then once a week - i just pop these trader joe’s butternut squash zig zags in the oven at 425 degrees f for 15 minutes topped with some olive oil and sea salt! hits the spot every time. plus you get a large amount of vitamin a with these bad boys. it’s a great alternative for people trying to lose weight, follow a heart healthy diet, or cutting some carbs!

Heute leider kein foto vom essen, da es schon wieder total stressig war. spontan ist mir noch einfallen das ich morgen auf einem geburtstag eingeladen bin und noch gar kein geschenk habe 🤦🏼‍♀️ typisch ich.. 🙈 also ging es los in die stadt. da es schon relativ spät war habe ich mir die fertige lasagne von #weightwatchers gekauft. abends gab es dann noch eiersalat - wirklich zu empfehlen 👍🏼 und dann ging es auch fix zur arbeit, wo ich dann gemeinsam mit meiner lieben kollegin das deutschlandspiel geguckt habe. und nun schauen wir mal, was die nacht noch so mit sich bringt. ich hoffe euer tag war erholsamer. morgens läuft es hoffentlich auch für mich entspannter. zwischen den fotos liegen übrigens etwa 15 kg - nur für den fall das es jemanden interessiert 😜 #abnehmen #arbeiten #erzieherin #erzieherinweilsuperheldinkeineoffizielleberufsbezeichnungist #stationärejugendhilfe

I completely forgot to post this last saturday! @marandab6985_lifetimeww and @eatenlightened hooked me up so i could try some new flavors of @eatenlightened ice cream! i was so excited!! there are some great flavors to choose from but i have to be honest and tell you that cookies and cream will forever be my ice cream love language! this is always on my grocery list because it’s such a tasty alternative to regular ice cream and much more point-friendly.

🔺zutaten🔺
🔺4 eier
🔺eine prise salz
🔺6 el xucker light
🔺1/2 tl backpulver
🔺700g skyr
🔺vanilleextrakt oder flavdrops
🔺1-2 tl backkakao
🔺1 espresso
🔹zubereitung🔹
🔹eier trennen
🔹die 4 eiweiß mit der prise salz steif schlagen.
🔹die 4 eigelb mit 2 el xucker light schaumig rühren und mit 50g skyr und 1/2 tl backpulver vermischen
🔹den eischnee unterheben und dann die masse auf ein mit backpapier ausgelegtes backblech verteilen
🔹im vorgeheizten backofen bei 160 grad (ober/unterhitze) für ca. 15 minuten backen.
🔹in der zeit wo der boden im backofen backt könnt ihr die creme zubereiten
🔹dazu nehmt ihr 650g skyr und vermischt diesen mit 4 el xucker light und vanilleextrakt oder flavdrops und verrührt alles gut
🔹wenn der boden nach 15 minuten fertig gebacken ist, lasst ihr diesen 15 minuten abkühlen und schneidet ihn dann passend für eure form zurecht
🔹dann schichtet ihr abwechselnd boden und creme, dabei beträufelt ihr den boden immer mit dem espresso
🔹die oberste schicht creme wird dann mit den 1-2 tl backkakao bestäubt
🔹dann wird das tiramisu kalt gestellt und nach ca. 1-2 stunden könnt ihr es genießen 😊
