If you are like me, an evening snack post dinner is a must. i have a huge sweet tooth and always tempted to reach for something sweet. i have been snacking on this date + @traderjoes almond butter + cocoa powder combo these past weeks and i had to share it with you guys. it is absolutely delicious. the natural sweetness of the dates in combo with the healthy fats from the almond butter is the perfect night cap. i have been having 2-3 and i highly recommend. don’t take it from me though! try it for yourself ๐Ÿ˜‰

organic chips & guacamole are a fantabulous example...

avocados ๐Ÿฅ‘ (you know, the main piece of the guacamole puzzle ๐Ÿ’) are full of healthy fats, but those healthy fats bring along a buttload of extra calories too.

the "organic" corn chips? i'm not even going to get started on those ๐Ÿ™„...

just know that, for losing fat, they're pretty much identical to regular chips.
โ €
my recommendation โœ…: if you enjoy eating chips & guac (preferably alongside a delicious chipotle burrito ๐ŸŒฏ๐Ÿ˜‹), then go ahead and eat 'em up! just make sure they fit within your nutrition targets, and you get plenty of protein & veggies the rest of the day ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ‘Œ

#transformationtuesday just a little late! it's been a while since i did one of these ๐Ÿคค taking it back to when i first started this journey โžก๏ธ today. kinda embarrassed looking back at the before photo but reminding myself i made the change, i put in the work and i should be dang proud. weightloss isn't an over night venture. it cant be a one month change. it's gotta be a lifestyle. my habits now are 100% different than what they used to be. i've still got a ways to go and there is no way i'm stopping now. if you want to make the change let me be the first to tell you, you can do it! ๐Ÿ’ช

I completed my #whole30 !!! overall i feel really great. i have more energy, when i wake up in the morning, it isn’t hard to get out if bed, and i feel motivated to keep eating healthy! i lost 5.6 pounds and 2 inches around my waist! i’m not stopping here because i am not at m goal weight. for now, i plan on eating mostly paleo with some dairy. i plan on starting another #whole30 at the end of july after i go on vacation! #iamwhole30

D10m1: same coffee as yesterday and the day before (@chameleoncoldbrew with @thenewbarn almond milk and @califiafarms coconut creamer) and i also had two hard boiled eggs from the hotel buffet ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผ‍โ™€๏ธ i have o**l allergy syndrome aka i have an allergic reaction to the leftover pollen on some uncooked fruits ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผ‍โ™€๏ธ (so nerdy, i know) and bananas, grapes and avocados are the fruits that i can’t eat uncooked... well since starting #whole30 i’ve been able to eat raw avocado with no issues, so.. i guess we will find out about this banana! usually i can tell within a second or two of eating it if it’s going to bother me, so i have an epic bar or lara bar as back up ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป i have heard that #whole30 can get rid of some allergies, which is my number one reason why i’m doing a #whole30round ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

I’m on a new kick that i’m not ready to give up quite yet :’) pancake bowls yo!๐Ÿ˜ on nights where i get back late from clinical and end up having dinner at like 9:30pm...i’m always too lazy to cook up oats afterward for dessert...soooo i’ve been whipping up a bowl of pancakes instead (honestly probably takes the same amount of time, but i’m denying it) each bowl has to meet the same “criteria”๐Ÿ˜‚ include: pancakes (duh), something creamy (yogurt), something creamy and salty (peanut butter blobs for days), something crunchy or crumbly (cookies), and something chocolately and melty (choc chips of pb cups)โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป i’m telling you guys—it’s a texture persons dream๐Ÿ˜›

Garden update ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒท our kale is growing immensely! really everything is growing in quite well. my first green beans have shown and some more tomatoes have grown. still can’t believe how big & strong my kale is. the second picture is it when it first sprouted back in april and now it’s ginormous ๐Ÿ˜ hoping to spend some time outside today tending to everything. happy thursday! .

Fat doesn’t make you fat!
fat comes in two main forms: unsaturated and saturated fat. unsaturated fats are oils — the kind that are fluid at room temperature (such as olive and canola oils). saturated fats are solid at room temperature (think a stick of butter, coconut oil or animal fat).
i love incorporating a good source of f*t into my meals because it had more calories per gram than carbohydrate and protein, leaving you fuller for longer.
today i had avocado toast which is packed with healthy fats!
eggs contain monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (the two types of unsaturated fats) and some saturated fats and saturated fats because it is an animal source ๐Ÿณ
avocados contain monounsaturated fats which are known as the “good fats” because it helps lower blood cholesterol. avocados offer nearly 20 vitamins and minerals in every serving, including potassium (which helps control blood pressure), lutein (which is good for your eyes), folate (which is crucial for cell repair and during pregnancy), b vitamins (help you fight off disease and infection), and vitamins c & e ๐Ÿฅ‘

in my shakes i always like to have a healthy source of carbs (from the strawberries and peaches), fats (i added coconut oil and almond butter) and protein (from the protein powder). i topped it all off with some coconut flakes and there you have it! a great balanced and refreshing summertime snack ๐Ÿค—
