for the dough:
4 1/2 cups self raising flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup oil
150g natural yogurt
for the filling:
150g melted butter
4 cloves crushed garlic
2 tbsp chopped dill
mix all dough ingredients to a smooth dough. roll out into a rectangle, spread the filling and roll like a swiss roll. cut into small bites, place on a bakewell lined tray and bake for approximately 20 minutes, 160 degrees celcius.
you can keep some of the dill mix aside and pour it over the bites when they are baked and still hot or sprinkle some grated cheese 5 minutes before taking them out of the oven.
Homemade pepperoni pizza because today is a sunday and my brain will accept any form of serotonin 😬
for the pizza dough (for three pizzas):
500g flour - if you can get your hands on 00 flour sold at fancy supermarkets it’s the best.
14g dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tbsp salt
for the sauce:
1 small box (250ml) of tomato purée - i used juhayna’s but its great to use canned crushed tomatoes
1/2 a pack of the smallest pack of tomato paste (50g)
1/2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tbsp salt
toppings i used:
pepperoni (get the swiss air-dried salami for best results)
cheese: mix of mozzarella and shredded cheddar
red chili flakes!!!
-mix the yeast and sugar with 300ml of warm water and leave for 5 mins. prepare the dry ingredients in a large bowl by sifting the flour and adding the salt, then making a well in the middle and adding the oil. mix, and add the yeast mix afterwards. use a rubber spatula to get all the flour off the edges, then use your hands to knead. when the dough has formed into a ball, flour a surface and knead for at least 5 mins. once that’s done, flour the ball of dough and leave for an hour in the bowl covered with a kitchen towel.
-once it has risen, punch out the air and knead for one minute. divide the dough into three equal pieces and flatten. when you prepare your pan, make sure to line with baking paper so it doesn’t stick.
pro tip: if you’re into thin pizzas, you can add the sauce, cheese, and toppings and cook right away at 250 degrees in the oven for 10-15 mins (depends on how crispy you want it). if you’re into the thicc ones, make sure to place your dough in the oven for 10 mins then adding the toppings and sauce.
this is called boli in nigeria and it's basically just roasted plantain. it is commonly eaten with groundnut and can be eaten with beans or stew but i usually just eat it on its own 😄
usually this is roasted on an outdoor grill and has a very smokey flavour. it can also be quite sweet if you use ripe plantain.
to do this at home you can use an oven but we have a little george foreman grill that is very easy to use so that's how i made these.
it takes very little time to prepare and cooks very quickly!
- wash the plantain in cold water
- cut around an inch off each end of the plantain and then cut a line from one end of the plantain to the other to help you peel the skin off the plantain (as seen in my first video in my last post)
- slice the plantain in half lengthwise so it is thinner and easier to grill flat
- preheat the grill for 5-10 minutes
- place the plantain in the grill with enough space between each plantain
- grill it on each side for 3-5 minutes, but this time will depend on the strength of your grill.
- once the plantain is fully roasted (with those nice grill marks) enjoy it hot
Here’s our go at making @goodhousekeeping’s recipe for pork tenderloin with grainy mustard vinaigrette. the mustard vinaigrette added a nice flavor to one of our favorite proteins.

Brownie pumpkin 🎃 swirl cheesecake topped with pecans and salted caramel chocolate 🍫 inspired by @miss_gruenkern! (check out her page for the recipe, google translator is your friend 😉)
when i saw these pop up in my feed i just knew i had to make them. i didn’t have all the ingredients for the original recipe around, so i swapped speculoos cookies for salted caramel chocolate and it was delicious!
