One of the keys to overcoming bad #habits and food addictions is thoughtful preparation. i started the following habit at the very beginning of my journey out of #foodaddiction.
key: never leave your house with out 🍓🍎🍐🍊🥝🍈🍍🍑 fresh fruit in tow. never. .
when i first started replacing my poor, processed, and impulse #pangattack (first time ever hashtag) choices when i was out of the house, i would often bring up to 4 or 5 fruits with me. apple🍎, orange🍊, banana🍌, berries🍓, grapes🍇, kiwi🥝, or anything else i had cut and prepared in the fridge. melons🍉, pineapple🍍, mango - you name it - it would be with me. and when i felt the #pangattack coming, the urges to splurge, on cookies🍪, muffins🍩, nachos, or whatever else was convenient - i would reach for my fruit and eat. it felt great to know that my choice was supporting my new life. .
8 years later and i still leave the house with fruit. i don’t always take as much anymore. but always at least one piece. .
today - a gloriously ripe red #plum. .
what are your favourite fruits to have on the run?
