. @andrewgillum in 2014. he’s always been real a*s leader. a mover and visionary, a hard worker and a advocate for young people of color. thanks for the bravery, the challenge and the work! this country will be better because of it. ✊🏾🌟🙏🏾
Y’all this woman @stefbrownjames (go follow @collectivepac ) is incredible and i am lucky to get follow up behind her through the @naacp_yc
when i first thought i would take this job, i called her first. she was supportive, real honest, and encouraging. then we had a real sit down lunch after delta days! and then i asked her to come to my first staff retreat and she spoke to all three of us about legacy, strategy and focus between staff advisors and students. i saw all that because she sticks to her word and has always made herself available when we need her. i’m so grateful for that.
last night i won’t the rising starr award at @blackgirlsvote annual ball and stef was the emcee. i’m so lucky to have powerful examples around me and thank you stefanie for you support, your love, your honesty, your care. you’re changing this world for the better and i’m glad we’re on the same team. 😘
It’s called sankofa and i learned it in college. in order to know where you’re going you have to know where you been.
thankful for the wisdom, joy, stories and support of these two brothers.
i love these people ....the war stories shared being raised in civil rights can’t be told until 2 of the three are dead lol @jeffsnation@tiffanydloftin (follow them if you not) @naacp
Support each other and read. it’s good for you, them, and it is healthy for us. it’s been an incredible year of documentation, story telling and reflection. i’m always ready to create new knowledge together and it’s interesting to me to listen what others experience and go through along side me. we see it all different and the same. by the grace of god, 2019 will be another shift towards liberation.
November 7, 2018, the day after election day, i flew from tallahassee to baltimore for a staff meeting and then from baltimore to north carolina a&t university to speak with young folks about financial literacy and investing in the black community. my calling is bigger than one campaign. the work never stops. people need us. we need each other. never give up, never surrender. @naacp@naacp _yc
